From high-speed power devices such as electric motors and internal combustion engines to the working end of the power devices, a process of reducing speed and increasing torque is needed. Reducer is the power transmission mechanism to realize this process. There are many kinds of reducers. They are low-key in daily life, but they are actually everywhere. Basically, they all use gears. Many times, they are called transmission, gearbox or gearbox.
1, reducer-working principle

Generally, speed reducers are used for transmission equipment with low rotation speed and high torque. The motor, internal combustion engine or other high-speed power is geared to the big gear on the output shaft through the gear with few teeth on the input shaft of the speed reducer to achieve the purpose of deceleration. Ordinary speed reducers also have several pairs of gears with the same principle to achieve the ideal deceleration effect. The ratio of the teeth of big and small gears is the transmission ratio.
2. How to choose the model of reducer?

Try to choose the reduction ratio close to the ideal:
Speed reduction ratio = speed of servo motor/speed of output shaft of reducer.

Torque calculation

For the life of the reducer, the calculation of torque is very important, and attention should be paid to whether the maximum torque value (TP) of acceleration exceeds the maximum load torque of the reducer.

The applicable power is usually the applicable power of the servo models on the market, and the applicability of the reducer is very high, and the working coefficient can be maintained above 1.2, but the selection can also be determined according to one’s own needs.

There are two main points

1. The output shaft diameter of the selected servo motor cannot be greater than the maximum used shaft diameter on the table;

2. If the torque calculation work shows that the speed can meet the normal operation, but when the servo is fully output, there is a shortage. It is necessary to do current limiting control on the motor side driver or torque protection on the mechanical shaft.

The selection of general reducer includes the steps of proposing original conditions, selecting types and determining specifications.

In contrast, the type selection is relatively simple, and it is the key to correctly and reasonably select the specifications of general reducers by accurately providing the working conditions of reducers and mastering the design, manufacture and use characteristics of reducers. The specifications should meet the conditions of strength, heat balance, radial load on the axial extension part, etc.

The installation site of decelerator should be separated from thermal radiation. If it is installed in a very hot and cold place, there must be measures for cooling and heating lubricating oil to ensure normal start-up.

The concrete foundation or metal base plate on which the reducer is installed must have sufficient rigidity; The anchor bolt shall be buried in sufficient depth, and the gasket shall be used for leveling, and the thickness of the gasket shall not be less than 1mm; To ensure that the load is stable and not deformed during operation.

Find the level, and the power machine, working machine, should be carried out separately.

The accuracy requirement of the level meter is generally 0.02~0.05mm/m, and the level meter is located on the extended protruding surface of the plane of the machine body or the machined surface parallel to the plane. The higher the centering accuracy, the better. The compensation ability and tolerance of the coupling used should be considered. Generally, the axis angle error should not be greater than 10 “and the translation error should not be greater than 0.1mm

Rust inhibitor and preservative on the shaft extension must be cleaned before the coupling, sprocket and other parts on the shaft extension can be installed. Remove rust inhibitor and preservative without tools such as sandpaper, file, scraper, etc., which are easy to damage the shaft mating surface. Coupling, sprocket, etc. should not be hit by heavy hammer, and the method of expanding with heat and contracting with cold should be adopted.

When the sprocket and pulley on the shaft are driven, it is best to point to the installation foundation.

If the hydraulic coupling is used for the connection with the power machine. Due to the large mass of the hydraulic coupling and the large centrifugal force at start-up, the gravity of the hydraulic coupling should be avoided, and the centrifugal force will all act on the shaft extension of the reducer, that is, the hydraulic coupling should not be hung on the shaft extension of the reducer, but should be supported together with the power machine. In this way, the supporting point of the shaft extension does not generate additional bending.

Compared with ordinary deceleration motors, deceleration stepping motors can realize speed and position control, while ordinary deceleration motors cannot realize positioning control.
